Oh, yes, The $ Tree. Lets do a little walk through for some ideas:
These trays are perfect for a project like this one I copied from everything LEB and the tutorial can be found here and here.

After - everything LEB Papier Mache tray - perfect gift!! |
A very good gift for birthdays, holidays! It is the perfect size to catch keys, jewelry, or even to use as a coaster next to the bed.
Moving on to kitchenware - you can do a lot with anything in this aisle! If you are entertaining it is a great place to get some extra glasses or dishes at $1 a pop. Or, if you are especially handy, try etching them like Martha Stewart did here or another one of my fav blogs, Young House Love, did here:

After - YHL Etched glass for Thanksgiving! So cute! |
How about grabbing a package of brown paper bags so you can make these also seen on Martha's site :

After - Martha Stewart Brown Bag placeholder :) |
With the leftover bags you can make some delicious chemical-free microwave popcorn! Just put 2 TBS of popping corn in the bag, fold over the flap twice, and pop for a couple minutes. Actual time will vary depending on the strength of your microwave. Super cheap and healthy...until you add the following:
Parmesan/Garlic Popcorn
- crush 2 cloves garlic into a bowl with 1-2TBS of olive oil.
- when popcorn is out transfer to a bowl and drizzle garlic and oil on popcorn.
- Sprinkle with 1-2TBS of Parmesan...YUMMY!!
That's it for our walk through the $ Store today. Anyone else have a great craft idea that can be started by a $ store find?? Feel free to share it in the comments section of this post!
Head out to your local store to see whats in store (ha!) for you.

PS - all Before photos come direct from the $Tree website. Did you know you can order products in bulk from there?? Such a great thing for entertaining! The After photos come from Martha and Young House Love as stated above. Now get back to work!
